When you make the decision to take home a Gentle Shepherd Farms puppy, you are taking home a piece of us. We are proud of the puppies we produce and have put in over 20 years of selective breeding to give you the amazing new friend you will take home. The decision to add a border collie to your life and family should not be taken lightly. This commitment could last for the next 15 to 17 years. Because we know that sometimes circumstances can happen that are beyond our control, every puppy that is born at the farm will forever have a home here. If at any time you become unwilling or unable to care for your Gentle Shepherd Border Collie, you may return it to the farm. We want to make sure that a border collie is the right dog for you. Please do not hesitate to call us and ask questions. Our job is to help you make the best decisions we can for you and our puppy.

Does color make a difference?
Color is a personal preference, but should never be the sole basis of breeding. The border collie should be bred for intelligence, soundness of mind and body and working ability. The fact that border collies come in beautiful colors is just the icing on the cake. The most common colors are black & white and black tri. Border Collies also come in other colors including red & white, red tri, sable & white, blue & white, red merle, blue merle, sable merle and pattern white. Color is not a factor in the personality of the dog.
